Lord of the felt : the return of the king
Ta-daa… I'm back. As promised I needed a little time to do a lot of RL things and the last few weeks have been really really enjoyable. I spent time doing worthwhile things with really good people which has recharged my batteries and given me the sense of satisfaction that only comes from doing something for nothing. Working in an environment where everyone has the same goal and no agendas is a refreshing and wonderful change to the daily grind of office politics and conflicts I usually experience. I'm back at work this week and will be trying to hold on to the positive energy for as long as possible.
I guess I'll be sitting down with poker tables on my screen again sometime soon. Breaks give you a good perspective and poker isn't as important to me as it used to be. Well maybe it's still important but in a different way. Now I see it as a hobby I could make a little money doing, before it was something I wanted to win at to prove something for my own ego. Pretty ridiculous.
Lessons to try and carry on the journey :
1 - It doesn't really matter. Nothing that happened in the past or that might happen in the future is as important as what's happening now.
2 - Don't fret over things you can't control.
3 - Doing anything is better than doing nothing. Any decision is better than none.
4 - Shit happens. No one cares. Bad beats are boring.
5 - Count your blessings.
Life is good :)
