Distracted

Quite a few things going on taking my mind off this and out into other spaces. Normal service will resume shortly.

Remember

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep,
though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

The latest

Last night I painted the 3rd coat of powder blue paint on the walls of my toilet and then sat down and actually played poker ! It was just a couple of $4 180s and I only finished 32nd and 63rd but it was fun, and for the first time in a long time I wanted to play poker not for the money or winning but just because I felt like I would be satisfied with making good decisions. I did and it was. The highlight was checking a turned full house on the river and getting paid when my respected opponent shoved back at me. That was an Ego-Stroker for sure :o)

Meanwhile...

With all the around us you might have missed these news stories ;

For those of you wondering about around , there is no set for the next in the UK. The is that an election must take place within ys of the last one, which the election is due on or before 3 June 2010. At the I would think May 2010 is the likeliest , and the Conservatives get into .

And finally
You know you're getting old when you start laughing at the youth of today, this had me in stiches …

If you believe you can achieve INNIT !

A good day

As unrealistic as it is to say, the world felt like a slightly better place this morning when I woke up. My cynic head says very little will really change, after all the guy hasn't got a magic wand and big ships take a very long time to change direction. But my heart has a little more faith in other people in it this morning and a tentative hope about the next 4 years.

Bad blogging

I keep writing posts then rereading them after half an hour and deleting them, hence the lack of content. Totally pointless. I used to just put up whatever was in my head but then people in my RL started commenting on it and now I have to think twice about everything I post.

Anyway. Tip for the week. Don't expect to know who's going to be the new US pres by Wednesday. The Bradley effect will make the result MUCH closer than the polls predict at the moment. Paddy Power were crazy to payout on an Obama victory 3 weeks early. You know how long it dragged on for last time it was close. Recounts, lawyers, delays. 2 Months later we found out Bush won the coinflip. So because of that my big bet for the week is to get your pound or dollar on Nancy Pelosi as the next US pres. If it’s a tie or it gets delayed for ever and ever it'll fall to her temporarily. So a pound at 1000-1 seems like the best outside punt you'll get this week if you ask me !
